“Melt away” problem zones without surgery
Even people with normal weight have unattractive areas of fat on their bodies that seem to persist despite exercise and a good diet – these are referred to as problem zones.
“Fat-dissolving injections” (injection lipolysis) can make small, annoying areas of fat disappear rapidly, gently and – most importantly – permanently (a double chin, for example). People with normal weight whose problem zones don’t respond to exercise and careful diet benefit most from these injections. But overweight clients can also improve specific problem zones with this method.
How do fat-dissolving injections work?
Injection lipolysis involves injecting a medicinal product (phosphatidylcholine) directly into the unwanted area of fat. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural product obtained from soya beans. Injected directly into the fatty tissue, it dissolves stored fat into fatty droplets that are transported in the blood to the liver, where they are metabolized. (The PDC solution is injected directly into the fatty tissue using a fine needle.)
Usually, two to four treatments at intervals of at least six to eight weeks are necessary to obtain the desired effect. The number of repetitions needed depends on the part of the body being treated and varies greatly from one person to the next.
The substance can be injected with relatively little pain. In some cases, temporary bruising and very slight, barely visible swelling may occur at the site of the injection, but this can easily be hidden with make-up.
The following regions can be treated: double chin, jawline, cheeks, sagging jowls.
The fat-dissolving injection is not a new miracle weapon for weight loss. But it is able to reduce areas of fat that do not respond either to a change of diet or targeted exercise, and at the same time it can tauten the skin slightly.
